Willie Reams

REAMS, Willie Mae Rieves , age 88, of Bellevue, Tennessee, died on August 9, 2008 at the NHC Place in Franklin, TN after a short period of illness.
Willie Mae was born on March 2, 1920 in Maury county, TN, to James Clayton Rieves and Reedy Ann Oliver Rieves. Her parents farmed near Culleoka, TN during her childhood. She was a member of her high school softball team, and always said, "Playing baseball with the boys was more fun than learning Algebra." She graduated from Culleoka High School in 1940.
Willie Mae married Orville Montgomery Reams on November 28, 1942. They spent the next 36 years on a small family farm near Bellevue, TN growing vegetables and raising chickens, sheep, cows, and pigs. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene church, and loved to sing hymns as she worked.
Orville died on August 10, 1978. Willie Mae is survived by two children, Linda Gail Ragsdale of Rockport, TX, Orville Wayne and Wife Peggy Reams of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Pete and Wife Amy Ragsdale of Corpus Christi, TX, Mitzi and Husband Brad Dunagen of Memphis, TN and Jeff and Wife Vanessa Reams of Atlanta, GA; four great-grandchildren , Hannah and Benjamin Ragsdale, Elijah and Abigail Reams. Funeral services will be on Thursday August 14, 2008 at 2 pm at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
