William "Billy" Watkins
William "Billy" Watkins, age 87 of Westmoreland, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2009. A native of Westmoreland, he was born to the late Dennis and Emma Watkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Ruth Watkins, brothers, Joe Watkins, and Charlie Watkins. Mr. Watkins was a member of the Westmoreland Church of Christ. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and also owned his own barber shop in Westmoreland. He is survived by his daughters; Debbie Chadick Aaron of Portland, Teresa Templeton Randall of Westmoreland, Denise Williams Mike of Bethpage; grandchildren, Sericea Lambert, Chris Pedigo Vanessa, Angie Spangler Eddie, Brandy Pedigo, Stephen Templeton Amanda, Sonya Shrum Scott, Megan Templeton, Colby Williams, and Wendy Gordy; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Bro. Guthrie Thompson and Bro. Charles Millson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Stephen Templeton, Scott Shrum, Eddie Spangler, Colby Williams, Chris Pedigo, and Daniel Lambert will serve as Active pallbearers. Grant Templeton will serve as an Honorary pallbearer. Visitation will begin on Monday at 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
