William Hopkins, Iii

HOPKINS, William Albert III "Bill", a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away surrounded by his family on April 19, 2010 in Nashville, TN. Bill was born on July 21, 1940 in Providence, RI. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jean Hopkins in Miramar Beach, FL, and his father, William A. Hopkins, Jr., and mother, Annette Hopkins, in Providence, RI. He will be greatly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law Michael & Angela Hopkins, Jeff & Brandy Hopkins and Kevin & Lynn Hopkins. Also missing their beloved Poppa are his grandchildren Lauren, Anthony, Christopher, Andrea, Kelcee, William and Amanda. He is survived by his sisters Peggy Bill Allison, Patty Alan Wynne and brother Bobby Hopkins, all of Rhode Island. Bill honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years. Upon retiring from the military, Bill worked in sales and real estate management. And most recently, he served as bookkeeper for Resurrection Catholic Church. However, it was his passion for people that we will remember the most. He was an involved father with his sons and grandchildren. Bill was both respected and well liked for his pleasing personality and his professional competence. He was a very involved parishioner of Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach, FL. A memorial mass will take place Saturday April 24, 10 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church, 259 Miramar Beach Drive, Miramar Beach, FL. Additionally, a memorial celebration of Poppa's life will be held on Monday April 26 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ, 1949 Old Hickory Boulevard, Brentwood, TN 37027. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to either Resurrection Catholic Church's building fund or to Alive Hospice 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
