William T. "Bill" Bozeman was born in Goodlettsville, TN and lived there till he was graduated from high school in 1964. He was elected Student Body President of 1964, was the recipient of the Balfour medal and was selected Best All Around.
Upon graduation from high school Bill attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing in 1968. After graduating from UT, Bill taught seventh and eighth grade math and science at White House Tennessee Junior High in White House, Tennessee. While teaching he enrolled in law school at the Nashville School of Law, formerly the YMCA Law School. He was graduated in 1973, and in 1974, he began the private practice of law with Kirk C. Waite under the firm name of Waite and Bozeman, PC. After several years that firm merged and became the Nashville law firm of Stephenson, Lackey and Waite. He remained with that firm for eight years.
In 1985, Mr. Bozeman left the private practice of law and became Vice President and State Manager for Pioneer National Title Insurance Company, Inc. and VP. In 1989, he became VP and State Manger for Title Insurance Company of Minnesota which later became Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. Following his tenure there he became Vice President and Area Manager for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company where he was responsible for title operations in five states. Following his years at Fidelity National he became State Manager for United General Title Insurance Company.
In 2010, he retired from the title insurance industry. Bill is a past-president of the Tennessee Land Title Association and a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations. Following retirement he enjoyed playing golf and reveling in following the exploits of his granddaughter Kate as she developed into and avid golfer.
Mr. Bozeman was preceded in death by his parents Reverend John A. Bozeman and Ruth O. Bozeman; his brother, John A. Bozeman, Jr.; sisters Betty Jean Bolles (Tom) and Mary Ann Breedlove (Bill); and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Bozeman, J.D. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arleen Hardin Bozeman; daughter Amy Elizabeth Harrington (Greg); granddaughter, Kathryn Lynn Harrington; three nieces and three nephews;
Bill was an outstanding person who enjoyed and drew strength from people of all walks of life. He was a member of Cook's United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville and a former member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville.
Visitation with the family will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, December 22d at Cole & Garrett of Goodlettsville. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 Wednesday December 23d at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville. A Celebration of Life service is planned for the spring. Pallbearers will be Jim Bolles, John Bolles, William Breedlove, III, Mike Caldwell, Buddy Crawford, Don Cunningham, Rick Helms, Jim Lackey, Bill Vecchione, and Rob Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Crawford, Nancy Crawford, Mike Dennis, the Goodlettsville High School Class of 1964, Jim Moore, Lisa Moore, Dennis Organ, Wayne Parker and the Seekers Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jennifer Lynn Bozeman Mother's Day Out Scholarship fund at Connell Memorial UMC in Goodlettsville TN, Cooks UMC in Mt. Juliet TN and Alive Hospice.
