William Cecil Andrews, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away November 15, 2007. Mr. Andrews was a 1941 graduate of East Nashville High School, where he excelled playing basketball and baseball. He was an avid fan of golf in addition to baseball and basketball. He served in the 178th Combat Army Engineers in World War II and was employed with Nashville Gas for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Eula Andrews, and his brother, Ray Andrews. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances M. Andrews; his daughter, Carol Tony Houchin; his son, Michael B. Edna Andrews; his grandchildren, Dr. Michael B. Houchin, Blake Houchin, Lindsay Hampton and Taylor Andrews; his brothers, Paul and Bob Jackie Andrews, and 9 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. and on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 2-7 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1-800-272-3900.
