Wallace, Wesley W.
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many passed away on June 25, 2008 at the age of 94 1/2 in an ATV accident. He had been a resident of Fairview since 1952. He was born in Bumpass Mills, TN, the youngest of five children. He graduated from Austin Peay with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He later earned a MA in Education Administration from Peabody University. He served Tennessee's public school system as a vocational and academic teacher, basketball coach and high school principal for over 38 years. In addition to his academic career he operated his own 414 acre farm for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Dora and Fay Wallace, his brothers Floyd, Roy, sisters Annie Dodd, Lila Vaughn and by his cherished wife Madeline Wallace. They were married for over 61 years. He is survived by his daughter Judy Wallace, son Daniel W. Wallace and daughter in law Martha Jo Wallace, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His qualities of inner strength, leadership, fortitude, integrity, diligence, intellect and wry sense of humor will be greatly missed by all that knew him Funeral service will be on Sunday June 29, 2008 at 2:30 pm at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, with Tom Herring and Tom Pierce officiating. Interment will be on Monday at 10 am at the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-8 pm and on Sunday from 12:30-2:30 pm at the HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME, 9090 HWY 100, 615 646-9292.
