Virginia E. Woods "Ginny" Age 76 of Bellevue, died August 3, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wallace WallyWoods, and is survived by their sons, Walter Woods Karen of Nashville, TN, Gregory Woods Valerie of Orlando, FL, and Peter Woods Jennifer of Overland Park, KS, five grandchildren Christopher, Zachary, Shelby, Haley, Abigail, Knoxville and Ten Mile, TN. Virginia's love of life was expressed as a commercial artist. For the past 35 years, her paintings have appeared in multiple shows and received numerous awards, including Dogwood Artist of the Year. Her work is currently displayed at Liz-Beth Art Gallery in Knoxville. As a painter adept at still life, her portfolio contains detailed, gentle images of nature in both oil and watercolor. Virginia's most recent works were unique studies in collage utilizing rice papters. In her later years, she was inspired by the natural beauty near her log cabin home on Watts Bar Lake in Ten Mile. Other loves included family, friends, word puzzles, gardening, cooking thoughtful conversations, sunrises, fishing, and her cat Veronica. Mrs. Woods was a member of St. Davids Episcopal Church in Nashville. Visitation for Mrs. Woods will be held Saturday, August 12 at 12:30 PM at St. Davids Episcopal Church, 6501 Pennywell Drive, Nashville, TN 615 352-0293 with the funeral to follow at 2:00 PM. Honorary Pallbearers are her special friends from the Monday morning Bible study at St. Davids. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nashville Chapter of Alive Hospice or St. Davids's Episcopal Church. WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME
