Of Goodlettsville, on Thursday, February 26, 2007. A member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church, a WWII Veteran having served in the U. S. Naval Aircorp, retired from the U. S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nina Townes; son, Gary Townes and his wife Janie; daughter, Vicki Townes; brother, Carl Townes. Funeral services will 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice or Beech Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Wednesday), from 4 - 8 p.m
