Tommy Lewis Biggs, 81, passed away Friday at St. Thomas Midtown. Born June 26, 1938 in Nashville, Tommy was the son of the late Gladys Mae Wilson. Tommy was raised in the Catholic faith and had been a member of Holy Rosary Church. He had also been a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tommy retired from Purity Dairies after a 50 year career. He began working in maintenance and had risen to plant superintendent at the time of his retirement. He loved animals, especially horses and at one time had owned 7 appaloosas. He also loved watching and occasionally attending Nascar races; yard work and boating and spending time at his home on Barren River Lake in Kentucky. One of his favorite pastimes was his visits with his group of friends over coffee at Hardee's. Tommy is survived by his wife Carol (Harris) Biggs; four children, Sharon (Dale) Sweet, Tim Biggs, Darryl Biggs, and Angela Palmer; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his half-sister, Kay Yoes. Visitation for Tommy will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, October 2nd. At 11 AM followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
