Thomas Hayden Reasoner, age 81, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 near his home in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Thomas was born February 13, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Henry Hayden and Florence Edna Fields Reasoner. Thomas attended Jere Baxter, Litton High School('49) and the University of Tennessee. Most of his career was spent in managerial roles in the trucking transportation industry. Thomas was a graduate of the US Army Basic Officer Leadership and Advanced Career Officer Schools. He served in the Army National Guard and retired as a Major in the US Army Reserves after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of the Reserve Officers Association, the Masonic Lodge #742, and the York Rite Masonic Order. Hobbies included hunting, fishing, collecting antiques, playing canasta and spending time on the Reasoner family farm. Thomas is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margery Ruth Rawls Reasoner. He was blessed with five children: Bonnie Kay Reasoner Mills (John) of Tarpon Springs, FL; Linda Ruth Reasoner Lutton (Craig) of Norcross, GA; Janet Marie Reasoner Dougherty (deceased), (David) of Charlotte, NC ; Thomas Hayden Reasoner (Aimee) of San Diego, CA; and Katrina Lynn Reasoner Koscielniak (Dave) of Land 'O Lakes, FL. He has 13 grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers Gene, Walter, and Howard. Survived by sisters Martha Johnson, Katherine Wherry, Geraldine Hutson, Edna Blankenship,Virginia Hammond, Prissy Reasoner, and Annette Harding. Viewing and services in celebration of his life will be held at Cole and Garrett FH in Goodlettsville, TN. On Friday November 11, 2011 viewing 11 AM - 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. On Saturday November 12, 2011 viewing 10:00 AM -11:30 followed by Masonic service and then funeral service in the chapel. Military and graveside services to follow at the Reasoner Family Cemetery, 3138 Ivey Point Road, Goodlettesville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Reasoner Family Cemetery, a nonprofit 501 (c) historical cemetery organization at www.reasonerfamilycemetery.org.
