BISHOP, Thomas Harrell "Hal", 72, April 16, 2008. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who cherished time with his grandchildren. He served as a deacon for many years at West Nashville Heights church of Christ and has been an elder for the past seven years. Mr. Bishop was one of the original founders of Nashville Christian School and served on the Board of Directors for six years. He worked for 27 years in the banking Industry, with Commerce Union Bank and First American National Bank, serving as an Executive Vice President . He also served as Senior Executive Vice President and on the Board of Director's of Paschall Truck Lines, Inc. for 22 years.
Survived by wife, Shirley Rucker Bishop; sons; Steve Darlete Bishop, Brian Melissa Bishop; sisters, Doris Curt Brooks, Alice Bishop; grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Amber, Breanna and Kameryn; niece, Mardella Smith; friends, Larry Keeton and Bob Graham.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Bellevue church of Christ with Jim Morgan and Jerrie Barber officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be Austin Bishop, Alex Bishop, Dennis Wilson, Brent Wilson, Ron Suedekum, Andy Parker, Josh Rivet and Craig Gabbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Waller, Tommy Mozier, Wayne Byrne and the Deacons and Elders of the Charlotte Heights church of Christ.
Donations may be made to Charlotte Heights church of Christ or Nashville Christian School.
Visitation will be Friday 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the Church.
