Stella Matthews

MATTHEWS, Stella, age 89, passed away at the Alive Hospice In Nashville on June 1, 2009. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Matthews, Sr., and survived by sons, Harry J. Janet Matthews, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; Joseph L. Lory Matthews of Baldwinsville, NY; and daughter, Linda J. Matthews of Antioch, TN; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Formerly of Staten Island, NY, Mrs. Matthews and her late husband spent their retirement years in Florida and then in the Nashville area. Mrs. Matthews was employed with the insurance company of Chubb & Sons in New York City for 23 years. A service will be conducted from the chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 5. Interment to follow at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Special thanks to Home Instead Senior Care and to the staff at Alive Hospice for their outstanding care.
