Shelby Dee McDonald, June 30, 1929 ~ November 17, 2011. Resident of Goodlettsville, TN. After a courageous 7 year battle with cancer, Shelby passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side. Shelby was born and raised in Kentucky and worked as a Supervisor for the State of Tennessee Highway Department. He was one of 4 children born to the late Lee Wesley and Stella McDonald and was the beloved husband of O'Dell Kendall McDonald for 67 years. Shelby will forever be remembered by his brother Fred and is preceded in death by the late Bernice. Survived by his beloved children, Barbara Arterburn, Jimmy McDonald, and wife Lee Ann, Robert McDonald, and wife Rhonda, and Jackie McDonald, and wife Phillis. Treasured grandchildren, Cindy Digman, Melissa Rittenberry, Rob McDonald, Jr., Jeremiah McDonald, Stacey Bennett, Jason McDonald, Josh McDonald, Ashley Ray, Warren McDonald; great-grandchildren, Trey Genung, Caleb Dingman, Victoria Arterburn, Michael Riggs, Summer Riggs, Autumn McDonald, Rob McDonald III, Jewel McDonald, Jacob McDonald, Jackson McDonald, Landon Bennett, Marissa Bennett, Cooper McDonald, Kennedy McDonald, Mason McDonald, Autumn Ray, Annalyse Ray, Randy Rittenberry, Bobby Rittenberry, Christopher Chauffe, and Matthew Chauffe, and countless other friends and family whom were a blessed to know him. Shelby loved spending time with his family, church, and working in his yard. He was totally devoted to an awesome and loving and graceful God�....Jesus Christ. Shelby touched the lives of many people with his generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He was an example to follow and had huge impacts o the people around him. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for him at Goodlettsville Pentecostal Church on Saturday November 19, 2011 at 1:30 pm, 733 Old Dickerson Pike, Goodlettsville. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, and Saturday from 10am until service time at the church.
