Sarah Royle Travis, age 81 died on July 4, 2017 after a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by her father Charles Leslie Royle and her mother Elna Rhodes Royle.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Hugh Travis, sons Frank Travis (Nancy) and Steve Travis (Donna), granddaughters Tracey Travis Grant (Jonathon) and Jennifer Travis, great grandsons Tanner Grant and Bae Grant, and brother Charles Royle (Diana) of Panama City Beach, Florida.
Born and raised in Madison, she attended Stratton Elementary School and Isaac Litton High School where she graduated in 1953. Among her greatest joys were her family, her friends and traveling abroad with Hugh. She was an avid reader and had a continuous love of learning. She was a faithful member of Goodlettsville First Baptist Church and was an active participant in their Meals on Wheels ministry.
Her remains are at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday July 6 from 4-8 pm. Celebration of Life service at 11 am Friday July 7 with Brother Alan Sircy and Brother Lyle Larson, officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Ruth Sunday School Class and the Fisherman's Sunday School Class of Goodlettsville First Baptist Church.
A private burial will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association of Tennessee or the Mission Fund at Goodlettsville First Baptist Church
