Sally Collins Mason, 87, passed away Wednesday July 21, 2021. Born April 22, 1934, in King, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Grady Collins and Elsie Culler Collins. Sally was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Collins. She lived most of her life in North Carolina but spent a large part of her life in central Virginia. She, along with her husband, Guilford, were retired from Central Virginia Training Center. During retirement, she stayed on the move with her husband before settling down in White House in 2017 to be closer to family. Sally loved southern gospel music, singing and playing the piano, and a challenging game of Rook. She loved to cook for her family and friends, not being satisfied until everyone was as full as could be. But, more than anything else, she had a pure servant’s heart, after the heart of her Lord—a faithful child to the end. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Guilford Mason; two daughters: Kimberly M. Nicks (John) of Coppell, TX, and Jana M. Massie (Darrell); eight grandchildren: Mason Nicks (Chanci) of Decatur, TX, Elizabeth Stacy (Joshua) of Lewisville, TX, William Nicks of Coppell, TX, Christian Massie (Caitlin), Maura Brown (Mason), Collin Massie, Jadon Massie, and Meilyn Massie; four great-grandchildren: Wyatt Nicks, Reagan Nicks, Mala Brown, and Charlotte Massie; and two sisters: Beulah Spainhour of Winston Salem, NC, and Louise Duggins of King, NC. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 26th, at 11 AM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, White House, TN. Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to the American Heart Association.
