Ruth Baggett Mathis, age 87 of Hendersonville and formally from Nashville, passed away on September 17, 2015.
Mrs. Mathis was born on February 9, 1928 to the late William Houston and Ruby Mae Baggett in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked for many years at the McQuiddy Printing until she retired.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Lee Mathis; brothers William Baggett, Jr., James Baggett and Sam Riley Baggett.
She is survived by her children, Beverly (Michael) Mitchell, Ronnie Mathis, Larry (Janet) Mathis, Gloria Davidson and Randall (Roxann) Mathis; grandchildren, Chris (Alisha) Mitchell, Chuck (Ondie) Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Jason Mathis, Jennifer (Jake) Henderson, Josh (Samantha) Barry, Deann (Greg) Claude, Steve Stevens, Lee (Sasha) Stevens, Andrea Anderson, April (Kevin) Smart, Julie (Gifford) Waters and Heather (Ryan) McClarty; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Mitchell, Cara Lee Mitchell, Cade Mitchell, Katie Diane Mathis, Mckenzie Mathis, Austin Barden, Shelby Barden, Jamason Lee Henderson, Brooklynn Barry, Skyler Barry, Ashlyn Barry, Kingston Barry, Lilly Barry, Paisly Barry, Rhylee Barry, Jeremy (Kelly) Booth, Amber Booth, Sarah Claude, Abby Claude, Emma Claude, Liam Claude, Bella Pace, Eli Stevens, Bailey Anderson, Skylar Waters; great-great grandchildren, Rylee Booth, Korbin Booth and Makenzie Booth; siblings Virginia (Charlie) Wrather, Patsy Hunt, Charlie Boy Baggett, Billy (Carol) Baggett and Diane Adams and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 12:00pm in the Cole and Garrett Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Mitchell, Chuck Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Jason Mathis, Steve Stevens and Lee Stevens. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18th from 4:00 -8:00pm then again on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service.
