Ruby Lucille (Gray) Stinson, 76, of Goodlettsville passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Ruby was born April 9, 1943 in Davidson County. She was the daughter of the late Harry Gray and Leona Elizabeth (Brown) Gray. Ruby was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Stinson. Ruby was raised on a farm and that early experience taught her how to handle a homes finances and make ends meet when necessary. This was a trait and talent she carried with her throughout her life. Married for 57 years, she and her husband raised three sons and she always put her family first. She loved to cook and was extremely good at it. As a gift to her sons, she gave them each a cookbook personalized with each of their favorite recipes. She also enjoyed writing poetry and some short stories. She was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. She was never showy but she did enjoy making sure she presented herself well and cared about her appearance. She had a strong faith and was a member of Metro Baptist Church. Ruby is survived by her husband, R.L. Stinson; three sons, Stephen Stinson, Nathan (Christy) Stinson, and Brandon (Kerry) Stinson; and three grandsons, Drue Michael Kane, Cameron Gray Stinson, and Bryson Gregory Stinson. A Life Celebration Service will be held Friday at 12 noon at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4 - 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
