Ruby Latimer

Ruby Jewell Latimer, age 94, of the Shackle Island Community of Hendersonville, formerly a resident of Columbia, TN, went home to be with her Savior after serving him faithfully for all of her life on Thursday, February 25, 2010. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rilla Posey Cole; husband, George Williamson Latimer; brothers, Bennett Cole, Denver Cole, Ray Cole, Marshall Cole, and Lilburn Cole; sisters, Berneice Chandler, and Gladys Harlan. She is survived by her son, James W. Latimer Kathy of Hendersonville; granddaughters, Christina and Victoria Latimer both of Hendersonville; sister-in-law, Marie Cole of Lucedale, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Hendersonville with Rev. David Jenkins, Rev. Gary Ferrell, and Rev. Robert Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery where David Baker, Don Kirby, Ray Jenkins, Larry Cole, Dean Cole, Bill McDuffee, Gerald Rice, and Jim Forkum will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will be from 2 – 8PM on Sunday, at the funeral home, and will resume on Monday at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
