Roy Graves

GRAVES, ROY L. – Age 86 of Hendersonville for 49 years, passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was born August of 1925 in Decatur, AL to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ernest Graves he later moved to the Nashville area at age 7. He was a graduate of East High School in Nashville. He then served his country in the United States Navy in WWII aboard the destroyer USS Cogswell in the south Pacific. He was a retired member of Genesco after 40 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 28 years, Eva Dee Graves; son, Steven Graves. Survived by his son, Michael Graves; daughters, Irma Sullivan, Doris Smith Christopher and Reba Frey Stanley; 8 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several extended family and friends. A Life Celebration will be held 12 Noon Saturday at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Ferrell officiating.
