Ronald Mondy

Ronald Curtis Mondy (aka Big Daddy), age 69, of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Born in Chattanooga, TN October 8, 1950, Ron was the son of the late Garvin Mondy and Claudia (Montgomery) Mondy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Roxann Mondy. Ron was a professional musician and saxophone player. He played in various swing bands and with the late Ferlin Husky, among others. Kind, social and a man with a "big heart", Ron was one who always liked to talk and "never met a stranger". Ron is survived by his wife, Bobbie Mondy; his step-daughter, Tammie Donoho; step-son-in-law, Ricky Donoho; sister-in-law, Bettie Kell-Etheridge; siblings, Gina Leach and Mike Heaton; grandsons, Levi, Stephen and Dylan Donoho; and great-grandchildren, Zoey, Jackson, Nora, Asher, Aliyah and Eden Donoho. A gathering of family and friends, in celebration of Ron's life, will be held Saturday January 11th from 4 to 6 PM at VFW Post # 9851, 73 New Shackle Island Rd., Hendersonville, TN. Although he was not a veteran, Ron was a very patriotic man. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the VFW Post #9851 food bank. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN.
