BALLARD, Ronald W. age 63 Nashville, TN. Ron lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 26, 2008. He is preceded in death by his father, William Ballard. He is survived by his wife Nita Ballard; daughter, Jennifer Weatherly Brent, Kingston Springs, TN., sons; Paul Ballard Paula, Cookeville, TN., David Ballard Katherine, Cookeville, TN.; 5 grandchildren, Brady Ballard, Walker and Dallas Weatherly, Adrienne and Amber Ballard; mother Marie Ballard; brother, Greg Ballard June, Nashville, TN.; sisters, Linda Ballard, Dover, TN. And Nancy Bain Bill, Chattanooga, TN. Ron was a veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was employed with the Department of Water Service, Metro Government of Nashville, TN. He was the Plant Superintendent of the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Nashville. He was a member of the Water Environment Federation and the Kentucky/Tennessee Water Environment Association. Ron was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the adjunct faculty of Nashville State Community College. He taught classes in civil and environmental engineering technology. His hobbies include golf, woodworking, and model railroading. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Larkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on McCroy Ln. Evan Ballard, Nathan Ballard, Michael Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, Steven Ellis, Steven Rowe, Michael Frensley, Eric Frensley, Bob Fohrd, and Brian Maggart will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all his dear friends at the Metro Water/Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Nashville. Visitation will be on Monday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME, 9090 HWY 100, 615 646-9292.
