JARRATT, SR., Robert VincentAge 91 of Madison. July 05, 2012. Mr. Jarratt, an Army veteran of World War II, served in the 20th Combat Engineers, he participated in the D-Day landing on Normandy Beach. A member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, he was named an outstanding Tennessean by Gov. Ned Ray McWherter and retired as vice-president of Braid Electric Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Fay Stroud Jarratt and a sister, Ruby Miller. He is survived by his sons, Robert V. Jarratt, Jr., his wife Claudia, James S. Jarratt, John B. Jarratt and Thomas J. Jarratt; daughter-in-law, Karen Jarratt; grandchildren, Andrew, Angela, Joshua, David, Sally, Matthew, Megan, Rachel, Jamie and Kristen; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8th at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church with burial Tuesday, July 10th at 11 a.m. at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers: Goodwill Class of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church. The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Maybelle Carter Retirement Center for their care and compassion.
