Born November 9, 1934 passed away at age 75 on February 23rd, 2010 in Nashville from complications of a stroke 8 months earlier. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ora Lee Barnhill and survived by wife Sharon Kay Barnhill, sons Paul and Chris Barnhill, daughter-in-law Jo Clardy Barnhill, and grandchildren, Davis and Madison Barnhill. Raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, he earned his Bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian University and his Master's degree from North Texas State University. He served as a full time preacher for the Smithfield Church of Christ in Ft. Worth, Galena Park Church of Christ in Houston, Edgemere Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, Central Church of Christ in Amarillo, Garland Road Church of Christ in Dallas, Southside Church of Christ in Ft. Worth, and the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ in Nashville. Thereafter, he served as the Executive Director for Nashville charity Youth Encouragement Services, and as VP of Marketing for retirement community developer Covenant Group. He was a husband, father, grandfather, an elder at the West End Church of Christ, a fisherman, hunter, a writer, a WWII history buff, and a par golfer. And, during the last years of his retirement, he preached for a small country church just like the one he began at...the Leeville Church of Christ in Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be held on Friday February 26, from 10:00AM until noon at the West End Church of Christ, 3534 West End Avenue, to be followed by a 12:00 memorial service there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Williamson County CASA, at 591-2699, or The Christian Chronicle at 405-425-5070.
