Ricky D. Goats, age 63 of Gallatin, passed away November 26, 2021. He was born in Madison, TN on January 28, 1958 to the late James Loyd and Margie Ralph Goats. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patsy Goats; their children, Joshua (Bethany) Goats, and Tiffany (Lukas) Smith; grandchildren, Ellyot, Kinsley and Miloh Goats, and Liam Smith; sister, Wanda (Danny) Dorris. Ricky served as a Sumner County Commissioner from 1990 until 2006. He recently retired from UPS after 43 years of service. He was a member and deacon at New Hope Baptist Church in Hendersonville, and a member of Beech Masonic Lodge. He was a proud and avid Vanderbilt fan, and he loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Visitation will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville Wednesday December 1 from 4-6 pm, with a masonic service to immediately follow. Chapel service will be at 2pm Thursday December 2 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project. The family requests that masks be worn during the visitation and services at the funeral home.
