Ralph Tanner, Sr.

Ralph Lee Tanner, Sr., 80, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Hendersonville Medical Center. Born July 24, 1941 in Springfield, TN, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph R. Tanner and Margaret Carlisle Tanner. He was also preceded in death by his son, Charles Eric Tanner; and daughter, Cherrie Ann Tanner. Ralph was a hard-working individual who would do anything for others as well. He was stern but welcoming and often opened his home to those in need of hospitality. As a young man he had worked at the former Gibson Boat Company in Goodlettsville. For most of his career he was a carpenter and homebuilder. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Ralph L. “Lee” Tanner Jr. (Stephanie), and Randy Tanner (Julie); his former wife, Patricia Tanner; grandchildren, Destiny, C.J., Alicia, Amber, Stormie, Chris, Valerie, Kayemen, Austan, and Blake; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation for Ralph will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN on Sunday, July 10th from 2 – 4 PM and Monday, July 11th from 12 – 2 PM. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home, Monday at 2 PM followed by interment at Lights Chapel Cemetery, Greenbrier, TN.
