Priscilla Preuss

PREUSS, Priscilla R., age 70 of College Grove, Tennessee, fell asleep in our God and Saviour Jesus Christ on November 1st, after a long and valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frederick, and by three children: Paul Raymond of Spring Hill, Inge Marie Schmidlin of Virginia Beach, VA., and Kari Anne Slukich of Nashville, TN. In addition she leaves behind three grandchildren: Morgan Murphy, Chase Schmidlin, and Annika Schmidlin. She is also survived by two sisters: Joan Trowbridge and Jeanne Elliot, both of Ulster County, New York, and by numerous nieces and nephews, and her daughter-in-law, Sherrie Preuss of Spring Hill, TN., and her son-in-law, Michael Slukich of Nashville, TN. She graduated cum laude from Wagner College with a Bachelor of Science degree from its School of Nursing and gained her Masters degree in Health Services Administration from the College of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois. Her nursing career was spent in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Vermont. She then served Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN., for twenty-five years as a clinical instructor in operative services. In addition she was an instructor at Nashville Tech in its program for training operating room technicians. Funeral service will take place on Friday, November 5th, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4905 Franklin Road, Nashville, at 10 A.M. Officiating will be Fr. Gregory Hohenholt, Fr. Nicholas Harbatis and Fr. George Vaporis. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will the members of Holy Trinity's Choir. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Iconography Fund of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or to The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
