Philip Petrelli

Philip John Petrelli, age 78, of Hendersonville, departed this life on February 16, 2010 surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle against cancer. Special gratitude to Dr. Raymond Fuller and the caring staff at Hendersonville Medical Center and to Dr. Johnson and Dr. Lovly of the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, who treated Mr. Petrelli with the utmost kindness, compassion and respect throughout his struggle. Mr. Petrelli was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eileen; his cherished son, Philip "PJ"; parents, Philip Joseph and Nora Conniff Petrelli; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Dorothy Reardon; and niece, Kathleen Reardon Collins. Mr. Petrelli is survived by his beloved daughter, Peg and son-in-law, Fred Zahn; his much adored only grandchild, Reilly Joseph Zahn; his sister, Marie Robert Fitzgerald; of NY; and his nephews, Robert Fitzgerald of CA and John Kevin Farieda Reardon of FL. In addition to living a life dedicated to his family and his great faith, Mr. Petrelli was retired from the brotherhood of the New York City Firefighters, where he dedicated 20 years of pure courage and also 18 years with Metro Nashville Davidson County Codes Department. In addition to being a devoted father and husband, Mr. Petrelli was a great man of faith and dedication who advocated on behalf of those angels in our community with mental retardation. Funeral mass will conducted 2 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2010 from Our Lady of the Lake Church, where Mr. Petrelli was a long standing member. Father William Bevington will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens Chapel of Memories Mausoleum with a life celebration following at the church. Visitation with the Petrelli family will be from 3 P.M. until 5 P.M. and from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M., Friday, February 19, 2010 with a rosary service at 7 P.M., and on Saturday, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
