Oscar Taylor, Jr.

TAYLOR, Oscar Lee, age 82. Died quietly after a long illness with both children at his side on May 29, 2009. He retired from South Central Bell after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Lois Taylor and wife of 49 years, Mary. He is survived by children, Joseph Taylor and Elaine Fussell; grandchildren, Laura and Brent Taylor, and Taylor and Hayden Fussell; siblings, Carol Drewry, Chris Marr, Sonny Taylor, and Beth Strickland; extended family and friends, Roger Fussell, Barry Baird, and Sue Geier. His family would like to express deep gratitude to all those who supported him during his illness including the caring staff at Southerland Place, the caregivers at Alive Hospice, and the Robert I Moore Sunday school class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Elizabeth Chapel UMC Church, Brentwood UMC Church, or Alive Hospice. Memorial service and interment at Brentwood UMC chapel/prayer garden at 2 P.M. on Sunday, June 7th with visitation starting in the parlor at 1 P.M. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
