Potts, Odes Clayton age 89 has gone to Heaven to rest and to be with his loved ones already waiting there for him. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen Potts and grandson, Fred Lewis Hicks, III. He is survived by his wife Louise Mayberry Potts; son, Nevurnel "N.O." Potts of Sante Fe; daughters, Marty Johnson of Bon Aqua and Ruth Hicks Yarbrough of Primm Springs; grandchildren, Sheila Ruth Hicks, Billy Herbig, Lisa Stromatt, Shelly Barnhill, Sheryl Potts; great grandchildren, RuthAnn, Lewis Clayton and J.J. Sewell, Amelia Herbig, Tessa and Corey Stromatt, Josh Barnhill and Ty Loaque; great-great granddaughter, Lexie Stromatt; step children, Barbara Shaffer of Illinois, Tommy Mayberry of Lyles, Jerry Mayberry of Columbia and 5 step grandchildren. Mr. Potts was born and spent all of his life in Primm Springs. He was a farmer and retired from Tennessee Tufting Co. After retiring he helped his daughter Ruth at the Nashville flea market, helped his son N.O. at his garage on Shoals Branch Rd. and enjoyed helping at Tractor Pulls and he took great pride in providing for his family. He lived a very hard life growing up but he had a very rewarding life. Funeral services will be on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at 11:30 am at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Ed Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Ray Pewitt, W.H. Barnhill, Tommy Mayberry, Corey Stromatt, Billy Herbig, Shelly Barnhill, Sheryl Potts, Ty Loaque will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. David Edwards and Vester Turman.
