Michael Wayne Jones Age 58, of Goodlettsville passed away June 4, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 3, 1957 in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Jones and Allie Mai Adair; his parents-in-love, Lilbert and Mary Louise Sloan.
Michael is survived by his wife of almost 38 years, Kathy "Kat" Sloan Jones; children, Chad (Diane) Jones, Crystal (Scott) Fitzpatrick, Cory (Jennifer) Jones; grandchildren, Sommer, Chloe and Landon Fitzpatrick, Paisley Jones and Katrina Fitzpatrick; step-grandchildren, Holly (Cody) West, Kirk (Annah) Hopkins; four step great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Talley, Mary Curtis; brothers, William Jones, Roger (Cheryl) Jones, Celvin (Lyn) Jones.
Michael was married to his soul mate and love of his life for almost 38 years. He often said he thanked God for making her for him. He grew up in White House and attended White House High School. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was one of the first members of the Millersville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed Nascar and used to race at Highland Rim in the late 80's. He and his sons made several trips to watch races at different Nascar tracks. He was also known for his "green thumb" as he could make anything grow. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and working in his garden. Michael was a Heavy Equipment Operator and when he retired he was a truck drive for 84 Lumber.
A Celebration of his life will be Monday, June 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Sellers Crain and Lynn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Goodlettsville, TN. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Chad and Cory Jones, Scott Fitzpatrick, Kirk and Keith Pyle and Scotty Sloan. Serving as honorary pallbearers are William, Roger and Celvin Jones, Marvin Morris, Jeff Barnes, Larry Henry, Eroman "Red" Denson, Ayman Gattaf, Randy Hulsey and employees of 84 Lumber in Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, June 7th from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m.
