Mattie Sue Luton Frost, age 88, of White House, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday March 9, 2020.
She is a graduate of White House High School and Middle Tennessee State University. Mattie Sue had a long career as a teacher and coach. She retired after 30 years of service at Goodlettsville High School which was the community she lived in at that time and loved dearly. Mattie Sue was an accomplished singer, pianist and organist. At an early age she began singing with her father at church and she continued her ministry of music by playing at the worship services at both Connell Memorial United Methodist Church and White House United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women's Group and the Naomi Circle. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Luton and Margaret Earnhart Luton, son-in-law John Clifford Tomlinson and grandson Kelley Steven Frost.
Mattie Sue is survived by her husband George H. Frost. Four children; Terry Frost Tomlinson, Robert Frost (Terri), Steven Frost (Shannon), Karen Frost Green (Alan), thirteen grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee is providing all arrangements. Visitation will be Friday March 13, 2020 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. The service will follow at 1:00 pm with Reverend Randy Brown officiating. Graveside services will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, White House, Tennessee.
The family would like to thank and honor Julianna Armah, Gertrude Glate and Kina Craig for providing loving care to her and our family during the last part of her life.
