Mary Spencer

SPENCER, Mary Elizabeth Lamb, Age 83 born September 3, 1924, of Nashville, TN and a long-time resident of St. Mary's County, MD went home to be with the Lord, June 3, 2008. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, William F. Spencer. She was also the loving and wonderful mother of six children, Sandra Molko of Avon Park, FL, Donald Purdy of Newburg, MD, Donna Cyrus of Dameron, MD, Kim E. Kreider of Mt. Joy, PA, Stephen J. Purdy of Lawrenceville, GA and James Purdy of Nashville, TN and a stepdaughter, Montalu Norton of Arlington, TX. Mary has six grandchildren, Tracy and Jeffrey Keiser, Dawn and Amber Cyrus, Brian Klemz, Scott Stein and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Woods, Elmer Proper, Gladys Proper and stepsons, Mike Spencer and William Spencer. Mary was very involved with the community everywhere she lived. She worked with the Girl Scouts, was a Red Cross volunteer and cared for the elderly. She never knew a stranger. She enjoyed entertaining at home and especially enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Mary will be dearly missed. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2008, 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St. Nashville, TN 37203.
