Mary Gilchrist

Mary, a long time Goodlettsville, and Nashville resident, was raised in Franklin, Kentucky by her parents Lucy Milliken and Carl Benedict. Here she met and married William Garth (Dooley) Gilchrist III. Their marriage produced 6 children, all daughters; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Her passions were reading and gardening, and though she rarely traveled she had a broad and deep knowledge of the world. Her domain was small, simple and elegant. She would not abide hatred or bigotry in any form.
Mary passed away peacefully at home in her bed, with her youngest daughter beside her. Just the way she wanted to leave this earth. Though her absence from our world leaves an unfillable hole in our hearts, she is free from her earthly bonds, and this we know was her desire in this final stage of life.

Kathleen Gilchrist Mims and her husband Eddie (Flora, MS), Kathleen's son Clark Satcher and his wife Kathryn (San Jose, CA); their son Daniel and his wife Sharie and their children Kayden and Connor Mims (Madison, MS).
Diane Gilchrist Jett and her husband Randy (Purvis, MS), their daughter Dana Jett Chisolm and her husband Brad (Piedmont, OK), Dana's son Alston Jett (Purvis, MS), and their children Landon and Tristan Chisolm (Piedmont, OK); their son William and his wife Chelsi and their son Randy Jett (Lacombe, LA); and their son Kenny and his wife Brooke and their son Benson Jett (Panama City Beach, FL).
Ellen Gilchrist Bullard and her husband Tommy (Florence, MS), Ellen's daughter Heather Kirby and her husband Michael and their children Cameron and Sarah (Clovis, NM); their daughter Ashley Bullard Robinson and her husband Stuart (Clinton, MS); their daughters, Mary and Jenny Bullard.
Lucy Gilchrist Roberts and her husband Sammy (Madison, MS), their daughter Angie Rieder and her children Kylie Camardelle and Aaron Rieder (Brandon, MS).
Louise Gilchrist Grant and her husband Frank (Nashville, TN); Louise's daughter Gilchrist Green (New York, NY) and son Grayton Green (Nashville, TN).
Mary leaves behind her dear sister Ann Carlene Benedict Krenson and her husband Gilbert (Nashville, TN), their son Eddie and his wife Martha (Mont Eagle, TN), Eddie's children Jason, Jennifer and Connie; their son John and his wife Carrie and their children Dasha and Evan (Nashville, TN), and their son Jay Krenson (Nashville TN).
She also leaves behind her beloved brother "in-law", Robert Alford (Bob) Gilchrist Sr, his wife Julie Brassfield Gilchrist (Jackson, MS), Bob's daughters Julianna Gilchrist (Austin, TX), Trena Gilchrist Klaas and her husband Jimmy and their children Amy and Tyler (Ridgeland, MS), and Bob and Julie's children Whitney (Tallahassee, FL) and Robert Alford Jr (Austin, TX).
