Mary Fykes

Mary Carr Fykes, age 94, formerly of Garland, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2011 in Tucson, AZ, where she had resided for several months. Mrs. Fykes was born on Christmas Day, 1916 in Westmoreland, TN. She was married to Glidewell Wilson Fykes, formerly of Adolphus, KY, for 65 years before his death in 2003. They were both members of First United Methodist Church in Garland, TX for many years. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Fykes Bill Sullivan of Shreveport, LA and Marilyn Fykes Bob Brown of Tucson, AZ.; brothers, W.A. Mildred Carr and Charles Shirley Carr; grandchildren, Cindy Sullivan, Trey Shannon Sullivan, Chad Susan Brown, Marcy Brown Ian Lyon and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, February, 23 in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Dr. Dwayne Tyus officiating.
