Mary Dozier

Mary Helen Gray Dozier, age 90, departed this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Lebanon Health & Rehab. Mrs. Dozier was a lifelong member of West Nashville United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of West Nashville. She moved to Lebanon to the Southern Manor Living in 2005 to be near her daughter. For the past 6 months, she was a resident of The Pavilion. Mrs. Dozier was born October 24, 1919, to Polly French Gray and Joseph Douglas Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 ½ years, Ernest M. Dozier, Sr., and her identical twin sister, Mai Ellen Tant. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Tommy Carney of Lebanon, and son, Ernest "Bo" Joanie Dozier, Jr. , of Joelton. She is also survived by 5 granddaughters, Sandra Carney Bill Brunson of Lebanon, TN, Laura Dozier Kevin Perkins of Dyer, TN, Lisa Carney Ted Brickenden of Fayetteville, GA, Amanda Dozier Todd Allen of Hermitage, TN, and Sara Dozier Michael Burris of Springfield, TN. Nine great-grandchildren also survive to carry on her legacy of love. The funeral service will be at 1 pm, Friday, September 24, 2010 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hall officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial park. Visitation will be Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Friday one hour prior to the service at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME 6962 Charlotte Pk 615 352-9400
