Age 92 of Goodlettsville, passed away peacefully at Ridgetop Haven Nursing Home on May 1, 2007. She was born in Sumner County on November 5, 1914 and is the daughter of the late Bob and Lula Baker. Mrs. Roberts spent most of her life in Sumner County where she attended school, and worked later in life at Red Drug Store for many years. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in East Nashville. Mrs. Roberts lived on Edwards Avenue in East Nashville later in life, where she filled her days tending her magnificent backyard garden, filled with brilliant flowers and tasty vegetables. Many will remember her for her witty personality, a person who didn't mind playing a practical joke, and one who was a delight to listen to as she narrated stories of her life in rural Tennessee. Survivors include daughter, Juanita (Maurice) Briggs; grandson, Gary Briggs; granddaughter, Lisa Briggs (Ed) Hale; great-grandchildren, Brian Edward Hale, David Elliot Hale and Lindsay Hale Bonnell; niece, Frances Clark Brown (Randy), and many other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Jon Lawhon, whom she kept in her home during the day for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of Ridgetop Haven for their very fine care of Mrs. Roberts over the last several years, as well as those many family and friends who visited and comforted her there. Visitation with the family will be at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville on Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 1 - 3 p.m. & 5 - 8 p.m.. Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Frank Evans. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Interment to follow at Beech Cemetery.
