Martha Wood

WOOD, Martha Giles, Age 80. Born Sept. 13, 1926 in Macon Ga. Died Apr. 27, 2007. Survived by husband of 55 years, Richard Hansford Wood, Sr. Sons Richard Hansford Sandra Wood, Jr. PE, Nashville and Col. Joseph Rabun Merrie Wood USAF Ret., Arlington Va. Grandchildren Katherine L. Wood and David H. Wood both of Nashville, Eleanor L. Wood and Anne C. Wood both of Arlington, sister Betty Giles Lewis of Macon, Ga. After graduating from Georgia State College For Women, she became ladies editor for the Macon News. Special thanks to Mrs. Erlene Stallworth for three years of loving home care and the staff of the Meadows Nursing Facility for special care the final months. Mrs. Wood was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and Hillwood Country Club. Visitation with the family will be 6pm to 8pm Mon. Apr. 30, 2007 at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home . Memorials may be made to the Charity of ones choice.
