Martha W. Pharris, age 95, of Goodlettsville, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Sterling House.

Mrs. Pharris was born February 26, 1919 in Sparta, TN to the late Alphonso and Bessie Walker. Martha married the late James Hubert Pharris and they lived in Gainesboro until the early 1960's when they moved to Nashville and she began teaching 3rd grade at Joelton Elementary School. Martha continued teaching for many years in the Metro Davidson County Schools. She was a long time member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ where she served as the 6th grade girls Sunday School Teacher, worked with the Thursday morning ladies Bible study group, as well as any other jobs the church needed.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Neal and husband Woodard of Donelson, and Judy Williams and her late husband James of Madison; grandchildren, Lebron Neal and wife Kim of California, Leann Bruce and husband Jim of Franklin, Jamie Wilkinson and wife Bridgette of Hendersonville, and Shannon Arthur and husband Brad of Hendersonville, Jay Williams, Mike Williams, and Kelly Bergman; great grandchildren, Lauren Bruce, Colin Bruce, Austin Wilkinson, Madeline Wilkinson, Trenton Arthur, Riley Arthur and Ellie Arthur.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Charles Baugh officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30pm Wednesday in the Pharris Family Cemetery in Gainesboro.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Goodlettsville Church of Christ, Thursday Morning Ladies Bible Class.
