Marie Waggoner Butterworth, age 95, was the eighth of nine children born to Lillie and Ellis Waggoner. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Chester, Herman, Melburn, Burnice, Roy, and Alvin, and her sisters Sadye Skaggs and Dorothy Cummings. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Charlie) Williams, and Jeanne (Lannie) McGehee and her grandchildren Simon Williams, Rachel Marie Crane Williams (Don), Jody (Stacey) McGehee, and Ryan (Charlena) McGehee. She was a loving great grandmother to Rylie Marie, Jack Kelley, Roxanna Marie and Carolynna McGehee.
Our mother was a dedicated employee at the Bank of Goodlettsville for 40 years. As a life long member of Walkers United Methodist Church, she served as treasurer for many years. A celebration of her life which was centered around her family and her church will be held at Walkers United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday with a visitation to be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Per her wishes, in lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Walkers United Methodist Church or the Goodlettsville Help Center. Honorary pallbearers will be the J.E.G. Class of Walkers United Methodist Church.
