Margery McCurdy Plummer, 92, of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Born August 30, 1929, in White House, TN, Margery was the daughter of the late John Crichelow McCurdy and Lucile Lewis McCurdy. Margery’s father was a pharmacist and had owned and operated the McCurdy Drug Co. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walton Plummer, a sister, Peggy Calis, and a nephew, John Hester.
Margery had been an English teacher at White House High School for many years. She had many good friends and colleagues who she cherished. She enjoyed writing and had published short stories reminiscent of life in White House. She was a member of the White House United Methodist Church.
She and her late husband were residents of Morningside of Belmont in their retirement. She spent some 9 years there and was fond of the activities and many friendships she developed while living there.
Margery is survived by her sons, Walton Dale Plummer, Jr. and his wife Judy, and Richard Plummer; and her two grandchildren, Kyle Plummer and Hannah Plummer. A celebration of Margery’s life will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in White House at 1:30 PM, Saturday July 30th. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 PM.
