Malcolm "Mack" W. Ayers, 70, of Goodlettsville passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2018. Born in Goodlettsville, January 2, 1948, Mack was the son of the late Morris Earl and Wilma H. (Smith) Ayers. Mack served in the US Army during the Vietnam era having entered the service right after his high school graduation. He was retired from DuPont and following that retirement he went to work for Metro as a bus driver. Mack was primarily known for his carpentry work and the handmade gifts he created for his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved the time spent with his family. Mack also enjoyed fishing, disc golf and was an avid UT Football and Tennessee Titans Football fan. In his spare time he loved going to the beach and his Florida trips. Mack is survived by his wife, Keene T. Ayers; his daughter, Sara Linton Harris (Clay); his son, Frank Ayers (Jessica); his grandchildren, Victoria, Caleb, Graeson, and Teagan; his brothers, Bill and Mike Ayers; and his sister, Faye Tatum. Visitation for Mack will be held Thursday, February 15th from 4 - 8 PM and Friday from 10 am - 12 pm. A Life Celebration Service will be held Friday at noon followed by interment at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Acting as pallbearers will be, Frank Ayers, Clay Harris, Caleb Harris, Tyler Ryan, Kyle Trout and Travis Felts; Honorary pallbearers will be, Mike Ayers, Bill Ayers, Jackie Tatum and Tommy Stockton.
