STRATTON, Linda Tyree- age 72 of Hendersonville, TN went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2013. Linda was born in Russellville, KY to the late Cliff and Ina Tyree. She was a woman of faith and very devoted to her family and church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, and prior to that First Baptist Church in Nashville. Throughout her life she supported missions through the Women's Missionary Union, teaching G.A.'s and participating in a missionary circle. She was also a Sunday School teacher. Linda had many achievements in her life such as being a member of the Exchange Club and serving as past president. She was a substitute teacher in Hendersonville schools before she began a career in banking in 1980. She rose from the position of teller to Senior Manager and Vice President for the Hendersonville Bank of America retiring in 1999. She gained meaningful relationships with colleagues and customers. She enjoyed reading, traveling, antiquing and spending time with her grandchildren. The most important thing to Linda in her life was her Lord and her family. Her moral and spiritual legacy will live on forever through her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John R. Stratton; children, John Stephen Stratton Lisa of Frankfort, KY, Lesley Stark Michael of Gallatin, Laura Sprouse Scott of Hendersonville, and Rebecca Hanly J.P. of Frankfort, KY; grandchildren, Roger, John Michael and Jared Stark, Carter and Henry Sprouse, Sheldon and Cliff Hanly, and Kelli Stark Cranford. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Tuesday 11am with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Alex Bell, Ed Spurlock, Ronald Coles, Bill Coles, Troy Johnson, James Ramsey and Ernie Bates. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8pm and on Tuesday from 10-11am at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Hendersonville First Baptist Church Global Impact Missions Fund.
