Talmadge "Lewis" Bradley, age 87, of Gallatin passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007, at Sumner Regional Medical Center with his loved ones at his side.
He was the son of the late Mutch and Mattie Ferrell Bradley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Trousdale Bradley. His love for his God and Family showed each day of his life. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He was a member of the Hartsville Pike Church of Christ in Gallatin.
Mr. Bradley worked for many years for the L&N Railroad, an insurance agent for Interstate Life Insurance Company, and a security guard at various plants in Gallatin.
He served in the US Army in 1944 during WWII. He was assigned to the Co. K. - 128th Infantry attached to the 32nd division serving in the Philippines and later stationed in Japan. While serving his country, Mr. Bradley earned the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Bronze Star.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary Christine Palmer Bradley, Daughters; Barbara Walt Ray of Gallatin, Sue Graves of Westmoreland, Mary Lewis Chuck Reynolds, Winter Park, FL, and Kathy Wayne Minor of Bethpage, Brother; Billy Jolene Bradley of South Tunnel, Sisters; Louise Suddarth of Gallatin, and Gerry Billy Burnley of Gallatin; 12 Grandchildren, and 18 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 12 Noon from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Bro. Burnice Wesbrooks and Bro. Doyle Farris officiating. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens at Crestview. Honorary pallbearers will be Walt Ray, Chuck Reynolds, Wayne Minor, Billy Bradley, Chester Bennett, Rick Fussell, Richard Scudder, Charlie Payne, Patrick Reynolds, Casey Tucker, Billy Burnely, Marty Bradley, Mike Stringer, Matt Stringer, Richard Eskildson, B.W. Draper, Tom McKee and Cody Jenkins. Mark Bradley Jenkins, Jim David Carr, Danny Burnley, Kyle Scudder, Kaylor Scudder, Chris Davidson, Michael Rubin, and Scott Burchett will serve as active pallbearers.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 25 at 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and will resume on Monday from 10 A.M. until service time. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Association of Kidneys Foundation. Gallatin Funeral Home & Memory Gardens at Crestview is in charge of the arrangements.
