Leona Frances Head

Goodlettsville- Leona Frances Head born to Clarence and Annie Mai Apple on December 25,1930 went to her heavenly home on July 27, 2024. Preceded in death by her husband Charles T. Head, grandson; Charles Alan, sister; Sue Hill, and brother; Roy Apple.

 She is survived by her three sons Scot(Jayne),Rick(Karen) of Hendersonville , Tn and Dennis Head of Goodlettsville, Tn. Grandchildren( whom she was affectionately referred to as “Bennie”) Miles (Shelby), Mitchell (Tori), both of Goodlettsville and Grayson of Hendersonville, along with two great grandchildren.

Leona was a member of First Baptist of Goodlettsville where she served 40 years in the preschool area.

Her love for children was not only shown in this area but in her professional career as an elementary teacher. Throughout her 31 years of teaching, she was honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award in 1971 and 1985. She was a lifelong member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Eastern Star. Her life was lived by devoting herself to her faith, family, and her friends.

 The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Clark Ray and his staff along with Alive Hospice for the wonderful care given.

Visitation will be held on, Tuesday, July 30th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Cole and Garrett in Goodlettsville and again on Wednesday, July 31st from 9-10:30am prior to burial. Graveside services will be at 11am at Springfield Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alive Hospice.
