GREER, Leo Curtis Sr. - Age 77 of Goodlettsville, TN passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 with family around him in his home. He was born June 17, 1930 on the family farm on Greer Road in Goodlettsville, the son of Willard and Ethel Binkley Greer. He is preceded in death by his son, Leo Curtis (Curt) Greer, Jr.; his parents, and his three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Dickens Greer; children, Cynthia Greer, Billy (Sandra) Greer; grandsons, Joshua and Zachary Greer. Mr. Greer served his country in the U. S. Army where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Greer was a devoted husband and father who committed his life to serving his family, church, neighbors and community. He was a lifetime member of the Ivy Point Church of Christ where he was an elder for many years. He served on the Board of Directors of Goodpasture Christian School for 35 years. For more than 30 years he and his wife were the owners and administrators of Hendersonville Nursing Home in Hendersonville, TN. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Johnny Mack Young and Frank Berry will officiate. Interment will be at Ivy Point Church of Christ Cemetery in Goodlettsville. Visitation with the family will be 2 - 8 p.m. Friday. Active pallbearers will be Joshua and Zachary Greer, Steve Nicholson, James and Don Dickens, Mike Mohr, Steve Gregory, and Alan Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers are James, Russell and George Dickens, Lucian Minton, Sr., Johnny Thornton, Danny Pursley, Sam, Hugh Lee and Hollis Binkley, Nick Nicholson, Doug, Gary and Charles Spencer, Herman Ray, John Parrish, Maurice Powers, and Bill Wickert.
