Lee Edward Denney, age 29, passed away June 24, 2016. Lee was born on March 4, 1987 in Hendersonville, Tennessee to Brian Denney and Duchess Jernigan. Lee was a strong Christian man that loved living life to the extreme, from skydiving to car surfing. He had a passion for helping others down on their luck. He had a love of music and poetry. When he wasn't writing in his journal or playing his guitar and drums, you could find him at the gym bodybuilding. Lee's zest for life made everyone around him desire to be a better person. You just didn't want to let Lee down. He had a contagious smile and lopsided grin that charmed many people over his 29 years. Life's struggles hit him hard and he had a love/hate relationship with the outside world influences. He is at peace now resting; or cloud surfing "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"Corinthians 15:55 He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lonnie Jernigan, Jr. Lee is survived by his parents, Duchess Jernigan and Brian Denney (Yu Xiang); brother, Matthew Denney (Spenser); nephew, Cainen Denney; sisters, Amy and Sophia Denney; paternal grandparents, Charles and Faye Denney; maternal grandmother, Sondra Jernigan; step-brothers, Alex and Eric Dukes; uncles Steve Denney (Terri) and Jeff Denney; aunt, Lisa Barnett (Will); uncles, Bernie Jernigan (Gayle), Billy Jernigan (Rhonda) and Lonnie Jernigan, III (Ophelia); and several close cousins, relatives and friends. A Life Celebration Service honoring Lee will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at 2:00 P.M. from Long Hollow Baptist Church with his uncle, Bernie Jernigan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
