WILLIAMS, Katie Oliver – Age 82 of Nashville, Tennessee. Beloved wife and mother, passed from this life on Monday, September 20, 2010. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Brook Hollow Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and friend to those in need. She graduated magna cum laude from Belmont College, received her master's degree from Peabody University and masters plus from Vanderbilt University, all in the education field. She retired from the Metropolitan Nashville School District where she was a dedicated teacher and mentor. Born October 21, 1927, in Le Panto, Arkansas, as the seventh of eight children, she met and married her husband in Paducah, Kentucky, where they began raising their family. They were married 56 wonderful years at the time of her husband's passing. She was an avid bridge player, golfer, seamstress and friend. She was a fierce protector of those she loved and cherished. She is survived by one son, Donald Otis Williams III of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters, Jane Ron Landmann of Minden, NV; Gail Steve Wells of Brentwood, Tennessee; one grandson, John Wiley Wells. She will be sadly missed by all. Graveside Services' are scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 2 pm at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy. 100 with Rev. Tom Gholson officiating. Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice, 2525 Perimeter Place Drive #121 Nashville, TN 37214.
