In loving memory of Kathy Jo Meadows (née Phillips), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who passed away on March 24, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Kathy was born on August 24, 1954, in Madison, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Edward Randall Phillips and Louise Taylor Phillips.
Kathy was known for her kind and giving spirit. She had a heart of gold and touched the lives of many with her generosity and compassion. Her sense of humor brightened the days of those around her, making her a joy to be with.
One of Kathy's greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She adored them immensely and was always planning fun sleepovers with them. Nana's house was often joked as being a daycare by those who saw it, including neighbors. It was designed purely for the fun she wanted to have with them. She always had the grands outside playing in her turnaround with special toys, on the playground, trampoline, or swimming in her pool. Her bright red minivan became synonymous with the adventures she would take them on, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever.
She was a devout member of GoodNaz Church in Goodlettsville. Her family finds comfort during this difficult time knowing that she was a woman of strong faith.
Music held a special place in Kathy's heart, with the Rolling Stones being her favorite band. She shared this love with her children by attending concerts of artists like The Stones & Bruno Mars together.
Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her sons Brenton (Ashley) Meadows and Lance (Regina) Meadows, daughter Paige (Wesley) Meadows Ring, as well as grandsons Dean Meadows and Grant Meadows, granddaughters Lucy Ring, Lillian Meadows, Audrey Meadows, and Anna Ring, and grandson Sam Ring.
She is also survived by her brother Edward "Eddie" (Janice) Phillips and best friend Juanita Jett. She is predeceased by her brother Randy Phillips and sister-in-law Shelley Phillips.
The visitation services will be held on Monday, April 1st from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at GoodNaz Church in Goodlettsville. Additional visitation will take place the following day from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM. People attending the funeral are asked to wear something red. Entombment will take place in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Kathy's name to the charity of your choice. She would want the love poured somewhere else and for you to go forth with gratitude in your heart.
Arrangements entrusted to Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville.
