Katherine Birdwell

Katherine Jewell Birdwell, 95, a longtime Goodlettsville resident, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Maybelle Carter Senior Living in Madison. Born May 12, 1925 in Clarksville, TN, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas Jewell and Nina Pearl Spurlock Thompson. Katherine was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Birdwell; her twin sister, Kathleen McMurtry, and her sister, Margaret Morrow. She is survived by her son, Joel Stanley Birdwell; nephews, Jackie McMurtry and Danny McMurtry; and nieces, Nancy McMurtry Abel and Janice Morrow Cushenberry. By son's request, due to Covid safety considerations, there will be no public funeral services.
