WITT, June Gardner, age 68 of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at Alive Hospice.
Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Frazier Witt and father, Raleigh Greene Gardner.
She is survived by her daughter, Juleigh Furlong of Laguna Niguel, CA; son, Carter Witt Norika of Nagoya, Japan; mother, Ernestine Crouch Stewart of Hendersonville, TN; sister, Linda Morris of Hendersonville, TN; grandsons, Jordan and Jarrett Furlong of Laguna Niguel, CA, Tyler Douglas Witt of Nagoya, Japan; and niece, Holly Harrison Michael of Hendersonville, TN.
Mrs. Witt was a 1958 graduate of Hillsboro High School. June received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree from Jacksonville University in early childhood education. A lifelong teacher, she retired in Roswell, GA. She was a member of the Hendersonville chapter of the P.E.O. and a member of the Love II Sunday school Class at First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, TN. An avid lover of music, art and children, June was an enthusiastic teacher who is fondly remembered by her many students through the years. After her teaching career she remained active in her church and maintained many wonderful friends she has collected through her many activities. Her laughter and love will be greatly missed by all.
The family will receive friends from 4-9pm Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Hendersonville Funeral Home. A private interment service will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, TN. A Memorial service will be conducted at 1pm Friday, June 20, 2008 in the Hendersonville First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Courtney Wilson officiating.
Floral arrangements are welcomed. Donations may be made to Alive Hospice at Skyline Madison Campus in her name.
